Welcome to my Educational Studies ePortfolio . Here is where I will be displaying all of work I have completed to earn my educational studies degree at Arizona State University with a 4.0 GPA and a suma cum laude designation. I have not only included the work I have done creating web sites for classes, but have included in those sites the multimedia presentations that have earned me an A in every class i have taken while a student as Arizona State University.
Why Teach

I firmly believe passion is contagious, especially in a learning environment. My passions have taken me many places throughout my life, and teaching has always appeared to be my final destination.  I want to become a teacher because any learners, young or old, can feed off of my passion and with my firm, fair, but easy going personality, connect with me and buy-in to whatever we are learning at the time and get the most from the learning opportunity.

I will show my students that great things can be accomplished through the pursuit of life-long learning and how much can be garnered from meaningful experiences both inside, and out of the classroom, if you are enjoying what you are accomplishing, no matter the subject matter.  Through my emphasis on the pillars of character and the ability to act in a productive and appropriate way, I will prove that the journey can be easier and more enjoyable for the learner to navigate the many environments of learning.

Relying on my sense of humor I will encourage mastery, competency and critical thinking.  My own experience of working towards four college degrees at the several different levels of public education I will epitomize the idea that anyone can accomplish anything they put their mind to, and I will make sure every child gets the most out of their learning process, no matter their speed or ability, at whatever level I teach.

Professional Summary

Educational/Training Experience
A recent graduate of Arizona State University with a 4.0 GPA in Educational Studies, I am well-versed in using social skills and empathy to manage student behavior. While working in East Lyme Public Schools, I utilized feedback from students to create compelling, individualized learning opportunities that took into account the strengths and weaknesses of students. Later, serving as a trainer, mentor, and team manager of teams of up to 12 sales representatives, I created unique experiences and opportunities that enhanced a representative’s interpersonal communication skill to accomplish their objectives.

Law Enforcement Experience
Highly skilled law enforcement officer with 3 years' experience providing safe and secure environments for staff, inmates and employees in correctional institutions and government environments alike, with comprehensive knowledge of all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. As a sworn Connecticut correctional officer working in a minimum security facility and a maximum security/intake facility, I trained extensively in crisis prevention and intervention, with the ability to remain calm and confident even in the most adverse and stressful working conditions.  In both facilities I experienced supervising anywhere between 64 and 118 inmates at a time.
